Senior portraits have come a long way since I graduated high school almost a decade ago. I remember the cheesy feather boa, the drab black gown and the fake brick wall they had me lean up against in a dark studio. My photos were awful and I ended up only purchasing the one photo that went into the yearbook. Today, seniors have the opportunity to take portraits on location and have their personalities shine. Let’s face it, our parents all seem to stop taking professional portraits once we enter our teen years. All the photographs we have that document the next 6 years of our lives are sitting on our cell phones or Facebook. Senior year is a great time to take professional portraits. The awkward years are over, the braces are off and most of us have developed a sense of style. I get so excited to photograph seniors and get to know them. My most recent senior session was with Brandyn. Brandyn is graduating from my alma mater and heading to Florida State University this summer. This session started at a local park near his home. I noticed this awesome brick wall and thought it would make a great backdrop. We then headed over to his beautiful home on the intracoastal to take photos out back with his family’s boat. The lighting was beautiful and the weather was perfect. I absolutely love how all the photos came out! Congratulations Brandyn! Good luck in college!
